Opportunity ID 1
Opportunity Identification: Iteration 1. Due Tuesday, 10/1/2024, at 11:59 PM.
Each student is to write up 3 unmet need areas, where a product could be developed. This material will be posted on private class website, and presented in class. Student ideas will be posted on a password protected site and the class will be asked to respect each other's intellectual property, but this level of protection is not as high as legally signed documents and data encryption. The instructor, MAE Dept., and UCSD cannot accept the liability of a product idea accidentally being made public. Accordingly, if you are concerned about damages that may occur due to accidental loss of your intellectual property, then please choose other product concepts for use in MAE154.
Short Bio: Tell us a bit about yourself, which will help you connect with others in the class and find your teammates.
Each Need Area should include:
Title
Description of unmet need.
One or two possible design solutions, even if very vague. Use simple sketches with annotations.
Criterion for Type of Products Can Be Developed in MAE154
All products must be of the nature that a simple prototype could be built by UCSD students within 3 quarters using undergraduate lab facilities.
All products must have end-users who can be consulted during the product development process.
Products may be with a for-profit or non-profit objective, but all products must have a viable plan for financial sustainability.
